We have incorporated the coloring technique handed down in Toyama Takaoka City to Higonokami, which has been loved for over 100 years in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Each item has a different color, so it will be a one-of-a-kind item just for you. The blade is made of the highest quality blue steel and has excellent sharpness and durability. Since it is double-edged, it can be used regardless of left or right hand.

What is Nagaokoma Seisakusho's "Higonokami Knife"?
Around 1898, a hardware wholesaler named Taisaburo Shigematsu improved the product based on a knife he brought back from Kagoshima. At the time, most of our customers were in Kumamoto, Kyushu, so we called it the ``Higonokami Knife'' and it became a big hit. At its peak, there were 40 registered manufacturers and it developed into a large industry in Miki City, but it declined over the course of history due to various problems. Currently, only one company, Nagaokoma Seisakusho, can use the "Higonokami" registered trademark. Founded in 1898. We are working hard every day to pass on our 100-year tradition to future generations.

Hyorin is another name for the moon. Although the moon is modest in the night sky, it firmly asserts its presence. I put these thoughts into Higonokami. The scabbard uses the traditional technique of ``Takaoka copper coloring'' from Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. We artificially cause the brass sheath to corrode and rust, creating a unique texture and color. This is a collaboration product between Nagaokoma Seisakusho and Miki Kajiya Village.

How long does it take to receive the order?

Items in stock will be shipped the same day if ordered by 3pm. However, we will not be shipping on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
